Charleston Base Holds Annual Picnic At Bushy Park Recreation Area



Charleston Base held its annual summer picnic at the Bushy Park recreation area on the Cooper River on Saturday 31 May 2014. 150+ members and their guests attended. The free event was catered by the American Legion affiliated group - Tin Can Sailors.

Admiral James B. Osborn Scholarship Fund Awards $2,500 To Four Grandchildren Of Charleston Base Members

Hard work always pays off - and in these cases - it literally did. Four grandchildren of Charleston Base members were presented with scholarship checks in a ceremony held before the June monthly meeting.


Kevin Scharf, grandson of member George Scharf, received a $500 scholarship
presented to him by his grandfather.


Emily Stanovitch, granddaughter of member Richard Walsh, received a $500
scholarship presented to her by her grandfather.


Christopher Fassulitois, grandson of member Roger Gibson, received a $1000
scholarship presented to him by his grandfather.

Trent Trump, grandson of member Terry Trump, although not present for the ceremony, received a $500 scholarship presented to him by his grandfather (we sent the check with Terry to Ohio).
