Veterans' Victory House - Home of the Greatest Generations
The Veterans’ Victory House is
located in Walterboro, in South Carolina’s coastal region.
Located at 2461 Sidneys Road, the nursing home is 126,000 square feet
on a 20-acre site. With a staff of 250, the $28 Million facility
is one of the most modern of its kind in the United States. It
has 3 nursing units with 56 beds each, as well as a 52 bed secured
dementia unit.
Dedicated Saturday, November 11,
2006, on the observance of Veterans’ Day, and following Walterboro’s
first annual Veterans’ Day Parade, the facility is comprised of five
pavilions, each named in honor of a South Carolinian who made great
personal sacrifice furthering the cause of freedom around the world:
- Boatswain's Mate First Class James Elliott Williams,Medal of Honor recipient, U.S. Navy, Vietnam
- Lance Corporal Rodney J. Williams, U.S. Marine Corps, Beirut, Lebanon
- Captain John H. Truluck, U.S. Air Force, World War II Ace
- Staff Sergeant Eugene A. Lyons, U.S. Army, World War II
- Master Sergeant Francis S. Currey, Medal of Honor recipient, U.S. Army, World War II.

- Take Exit 57, turn east
on Bells/Highway 64 and travel 0.9 miles
- Turn left at the first
traffic light on to Robertsons Boulevard and travel 0.6 miles
- Turn left at the next
traffic light on to Jefferies/Highway 15 and travel 2.5 miles
- Turn right on Industrial
Road and travel 1.9 miles
- Turn left on to Sidneys
Road; the site is immediately on the left just beyond Northside Elementary
School

- At the fork in the road,
bear left on to Sidneys Road and travel 2.5 miles
- The site is on the left,
just beyond the Industrial Road intersection and Northside Elementary
