On Tuesday evening, June 10th, four scholarships were awarded by the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. Charleston Base. Checks were presented to the recipients by Rick Collins of the Scholarship Committee.

The Admiral James B. Osborn Memorial Scholarship is funded by the Charleston Base of USSVI. The scholarship will be awarded to a Tri-County high school senior and disbursed as a one-time minimum $500 award to the recipient.

The recipients of the 2010 Adm. James B. Osborn Memorial Scholarship are:

Maisie Wilzon – Granddaughter of Barry Wilson, Charleston Base Member
Wilson
Academy Homeschool, Florida; Accepted to Florida State

Elisabeth Kilroy – Step-Daughter of Russ Moser
James Island Charter School; Accepted to Wake Forest

Autumn Oakley – Step-Daughter of Eric Ramsey
Berkeley
High School; Accepted to College of Charleston

Ashleigh Van Metre – Daughter of Christopher Van Metre Bishop England High School;
Accepted to Notre Dame, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Wofford, Clemson, College of Charleston
